BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 viewer’s guide
Attention, all Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans! It’s time for the BLAST.tv Austin Major to begin, with the first matches kicking off on 3 June 2025. The first Major Championship of the year, and the 3rd ever in CS2, is an unmissable event, so we are here to help out esports fans. Let’s jump in and take a look at he most important details so no fan misses out.
BLAST Austin Major important details
First up, the tournament runs from 3 to 22 June 2025, so strap in for weeks of top-tier CS2 esports action. Teams are competing in Austin, Texas, in front of a live crowd on LAN, and the playoffs will take place at the magnificent Moody Center venue.
The 32 best teams in the world will compete for their share of the $1,250,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R22.5 million! For the first time ever, there are four stages, and 32 teams instead of 24.
The first three stages of competition all follow 16 Team Swiss System format, where elimination and advancement matches are BO3, and all other matches are BO1. The top eight teams from each stage advance to the next stage.

The final eight teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket during the Playoffs Stage, which runs from 19 to 22 June 2025, featuring a single-elimination bracket where all matches are BO3.
