Here’s what you need to know in case you couldn’t watch the action unfold live.

OpTic wins BLOPS 6 at EWC

In the Group Stage, half of the teams were eliminated. It was reigning back-to-back world champions, OpTic Gaming, who topped Group A, followed by FiveFears. Group B saw Vancouver Surge come in first, followed by 100 Thieves. KOI topped Group C, followed by Boston Breach, and Team Heretics topped Group D, followed by OMiT. In Group D, defending champions FaZe Clan were eliminated.

In the intense single-elimination Playoffs Stage, OpTic Gaming got off to a strong start, beating 100 Thieves with a convincing 3-1 score. However, when OpTic Gaming faced Team Heretics in the Semifinals, they were pushed to the brink of elimination. Team Heretics won the first two games, but OpTic Gaming pulled off an incredible comeback, winning the next three in a row for a 3-2 reverse-sweep.

On the other side of the bracket, Vancouver Surge beat FiveFears 3-0 and managed to overcome KOI in a close 3-2 match. In the Grand Final of the EWC 2025 BLOPS 6 event, however, it was OpTic Gaming who dominated Vancouver Surge 4-0 to claim the trophy and the first-place prize.

Congratulations go out to OpTic Gaming for winning the event and the lion’s share of the prize pool at $600,000. OpTic’s Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro won the tournament MVP award, grabbing himself a cool $50,000 for his fantastic plays throughout.
