Mettlestate F1 2020, Warzone and MTG cups taking place this weekend

As has become tradition, South African tournament organizer Mettlestate has some great esports action lined up for local gamers to enjoy over the weekend. This weekend features F1 2020, Magic The Gathering: Arena, as well as Call of Duty: Warzone cups. Here’s what you need to know.

Magic the Gathering: Arena cup

Registration for the 1v1 Magic the Gathering: Arena cup is open, and you can register for the cup by heading to its dedicated Mettlestate page. This is the third MTG: Arena cup from Mettlestate.

There’s a prize pool of R1,000 up for grabs. You have until Friday, 4 September 2020 at 19:00 to register. The cup will kick off on Saturday, 5 September at 15:00 SAST.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st place – R500
  • 2nd place – R300
  • 3rd place – R200

This is a 1v1 cup and it is open to PC gamers.

F1 2020 cup

Mettlestate also has an F1 2020 cup taking place this weekend. You can register by heading to the cup’s Mettlestate page. Registrations close on Saturday, 5 September at 19:00. The cup starts at 15:00 on Sunday, 6 September. There a prize pool of R2,000 up for grabs.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st place – R800
  • 2nd place – R600
  • 3rd place – R400
  • 4th place – R200

The F1 2020 cup is open to PC gamers.

Warzone cup

The second Warzone cup from Mettlestate is a Quads tournament, meaning you need three friends to enter and compete. Registration is now open and you can head on over to the cup’s dedicated Mettlestate page to enter.

Registration is free and closes at 19:00 on Friday, 4 September 2020. The Warzone Quads cup kicks off at 15:00 on Saturday, 5 September 2020. There’s a nice prize pool of R2,000 up for grabs.

  • 1st place – R800
  • 2nd place – R600
  • 3rd place – R400
  • 4th place – R200

This Warzone cup is open to PC, PS4 and Xbox One gamers.
