African Apex Legends Throwdown event announced by Nodwin

Nodwin Gaming Africa has announced an exciting new event for African Apex Legends teams to enter. It is called the African Apex Legends Throwdown event, which begins later this month. Here’s everything you need to know about this new event from Nodwin Gaming Africa.

African Apex Legends Throwdown details

The African Apex Legends Throwdown event, as the name suggests, is open to players in Africa. This is a Trios tournament for PC. You can head on over to the event’s Battlefly page to register your team. Three of the top teams in Africa have also been invited to the event.

Registration is free but there’s a $1,000 prize pool up for grabs.  At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R15,000. Keep in mind the Dollar to Rand exchange rate continues to fluctuate, so this is just a rough estimate.

The prize pool distribution is:
  • 1st place – $400
  • 2nd place – $300
  • 3rd place – $200
  • 4th place – $100

The African Apex Legends Throwdown event will run from 26 March to 18 April 2021, with exact start times yet to be confirmed.

Nodwin Gaming Africa explains:

“This event will have the best teams from all over Africa competing for a share of the $1000 prize pool. With live broadcasts weekly with some of the best African talent and the best Apex Legends players on the continent, we hope to bring both fans of the game and the players an experience to remember.”

There will be 10 days of competition. If you don’t want to play but like to watch African esports action, the event will be broadcast live on Nodwin Gaming Africa’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitch channel. There will be some great broadcasting talent on display, so don’t miss out.

Good luck to all teams participating in the event!
