Second CS2 Major Championship of 2027 annoucned

We already know that the first Major Championship of 2027 will be hosted by FiReSPORTS in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Now, tournament organizer Perfect World has announced the second Major Championship of next year, so Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) fans can mark their calendars without delay.

The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2027 will run from 22 November to 12 December next year and will feature four stages of competition, unless changes to the Major Championship format are made, which is unlikely following the changes in the past few years.

An expected Valve-sponsored prize pool of $1.25 million will be on the line, with 32 teams competing.

The short but sweet announcement from Perfect World reads: “The Winter 2027 Major, Valve’s top-tier CS tournament, will be hosted by Perfect World Esports and return to Shanghai, China! From Nov – Dec 2027, the world’s top teams will gather by the Huangpu River to compete for CS’s highest honor in Counter-Strike.“

This will be tournament organizer Perfect World’s 2nd Major Championship. The first one was, of course, the Shanghai Major 2024, where Team Spirit beat FaZe Clan in the Grand Final.
