RLCS 2022-23 SSA Winter Invitational results
This past weekend, from 24 to 26 February 2023, the conclusion of the RLCS SSA Winter series took place in the form of the Winter Invitational. We saw the best teams from the region compete for their share of the $20,000 prize pool and some RLCS points. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R360,000!
Limitless, previously known as May Contain Nuts, have been winning each of these tournaments for quite some time now and continued their excellent performances in Group A of the Winter Invitational, going 3-0 with ease. In the playoffs, Limitless continued to be a powerful force, beating Unity 3-1, Pirates Exdee 4-2, and AIPX Gaming 4-0 to make it to the grand final.
On the other side of the bracket, Nixuh beat Team Fusion 3-1, White Rabbit Gaming 4-2, and SRZ 4-0 to make it to the grand final. In the grand final of the RLCS 2022-2023 SSA Winter Invitational, Limitless went up 3-1 against Nixuh. However, Nixuh thought back in spectacular fashion, keeping us on the edge of our seats throughout. Nixuh made an immense comeback to dethrone Limitless with a final score of 4-3 in the grand final!
With the win, Nixuh earns $6,000 (of the $20,000 USD prize pool) for their victory, while Limitless gets $4,000 for their efforts.
