Intel Africa Masters results – 15averageGang beats Bravado
Back in June 2022, Intel Africa Masters was announced. It is the biggest CS:GO esports event Africa has ever seen, as South African tournament organizer Mettlestate partnered with Intel. This past weekend, the Intel Africa Masters came to a thrilling conclusion. Here’s how things went down.
Intel Africa Masters results
Intel Africa Masters is a massive and cross-continent tournament. Since early July, the best CS:GO teams from South Africa, Nigeria, North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia), and Egypt competed in open qualifiers and then in regional finals to make it to the finals, which were held at rAge Expo 2022.
Here, the final three teams competed for their share of the massive R450,000 prize pool. Yes, three teams, as the Egyptian team Cairo City G’zzz had to withdraw from the competition.
In the group stage, we saw Bravado Gaming beat Outlaws 2-0 and 15averageGang 2-1 to make it to the grand final, while 15averageGang bounced back to beat Outlaws 2-0 to face up against Bravado Gaming once again.
Despite being on their home turf, Bravado Gaming simply couldn’t handle the onslaught dealt by 15averageGang from North Africa. 15averageGang beat Bravado 16-12 on Dust II, 16-12 on Vertigo and 16-11 on Inferno to claim the title of Intel Africa Masters champions and the R150,000 first-place prize.
Bravado walks away with R120,000 in prize money for their efforts, and Outlaws win R100,000. A Big congratulations go out to 15averageGang for winning the Intel Africa Masters. Thank you to everyone who made this awesome event possible, from Mettlestate to Intel, and of course the excellent host Sam “Tech Girl” Wright alongside casters Matthew “HaZe” Stott and Thulani “LighteRTZ” Sishi.
