Teams got whittled down in the grueling Group Stage, and then the Playoffs Wtage at the COEX Artium in Seoul, and the top four then competed at the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon. We saw some huge upsets in the group stage, with Gen.G Esports and FunPlus Pheonix, two strong contenders, not even making it to the playoffs.

In the playoffs, Chinese powerhouse EDward Gaming made quick work of Trace Esports in the upper bracket and then pulled off reverse sweeps against both Sentinels and Leviatán to make it to the grand finale of Valorant Champions 2024.
On the other side of the bracket, Team Heretics shocked fans as they beat favorites fnatic 2-0 in the upper bracket’s opening round before getting knocked down by Leviatán.
Team Heretics recovered in the lower bracket, reverse-sweeping both DRX and then Sentinels (2-1 scorelines after losing the first map) before taking revenge on Leviatán with a 3-1 win to make it to the grand finale of Valorant Champions 2024.
In the grand final, Team Heretics went 1-0 up quickly with a clean win on Haven (13-6), but EDward Gaming pulled back two in a row, winning Sunset (13-4) and Lotus (13-9). Team Heretics showed how they could stay calm under pressure and took out EDward Gaming on Bind with a close 13-11 score. However, the Chinese side would not be denied, as EDward Gaming overcame Team Heretics 13-9 on Abyss to win Valorant Champions 2024.
A big congratulations go out to EDward Gaming for their incredible upper bracket run. EDward Gaming is your world champion for 2024 and walks away with $1,000,000 in prize money!
