Valorant Champions 2022 viewer’s guide

Throughout the year, we’ve seen Valorant esports teams worldwide compete in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), fighting it out in regional events and Masters tournaments. This week, the crowning event of VCT 2022 will begin, and we can’t be more excited. Here’s what you need to know.

Valorant Champions 2022 details

The Valorant Champions 2022 tournament is a LAN event from 31st August to 18 September 2022. It all takes place in Istanbul, Turkey, and the playoffs will be held at the Volkswagen Arena.

A total of sixteen teams will compete for their share of a huge prize pool and the chance to be crowned the Valorant world champions of 2022. Groups have already been determined. You can check out each group and its teams below.

Group A:
  • Paper Rex
  • Team Liquid
  • EDward Gaming
  • Leviatán
Group B:
  • OpTic Gaming
  • BOOM Esports
  • ZETA DIVISION
  • LOUD
Group C:
  • KRÃœ Esports
  • XERXIA
  • XSET
  • FunPlus Phoenix
Group D:
  • FURIA Esports
  • 100 Thieves
  • DRX
  • Fnatic

These teams will start in the group stage. The group stage features a double-elimination format for each group, with the top two teams making it to the playoffs. All matches are best-of-three.

Following the group stage, eight teams will compete in the playoffs. The playoffs feature a double-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three, except for the grand final and the lower bracket final, which are best-of-five.

You can watch all the top-tier Valorant esports action via the official Twitch or YouTube channels, whichever you prefer. Matches start at roughly 14:00 SAST each day.
