Throughout September, the top Valorant esports teams in the world competed for their share of the massive $1 million prize pool and the title of world champions. As the dust settles over Istanbul, we finally have our new Valorant world champions.

Following an exciting group stage, eight of the 16 teams competing at the Valorant Champions 2022 held in Turkey were eliminated, and eight made it to the playoffs.

During the playoffs, the Brazillian team LOUD trample through the competition, beating Leviatán, DRX, and OpTic Gaming with 2-0 scorelines to make it to the grand final. OpTic Gaming beat Team Liquid and XSET with 2-1 scorelines before getting knocked down to the lower bracket by LOUD.

In the lower bracket, OpTic Gaming came back swinging, beating DRX in a thrilling 3-2 match to secure their spot in the grand final and a rematch against LOUD.

LOUD came out swinging in the grand final, beating OpTic Gaming 15-13 on Ascent. Then, OpTic retaliated by smacking LOUD with a 13-6 win on Bind. The Brazillian powerhouse recovered quickly, beating OpTic Gaming 16-14 on Breeze, and finished off the grand finals by demolishing OpTic Gaming 13-5 on Haven.

Final standings:
  • 1st place – LOUD wins $300,000.
  • 2nd place – OpTic Gaming wins $150,000.
  • 3rd place – DRX wins $110,000.
  • 4th place – FunPlus Phoenix wins $80,000.
  • 5th to 6th place – XSET and Fnatic win $60,000 each.
  • 7th to 8th place – Leviatán and Team Liquid win $40,000 each.
  • 9th to 12th place – KRÃœ Esports, 100 Thieves, ZETA DIVISION and Paper Rex win $25,000 each.
  • 13th to 16th place – EDward Gaming, BOOM Esports, XERXIA and FURIA Esports win $15,000 each.

Congratulations to LOUD for their dominant performance at Valorant Champions 2022. For the victory, they get $300,000, while OpTic Gaming gets $150,000 for their valiant efforts.
