Socks Up wins Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 ZA national final

At Comic Con Africa, we saw the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 national final for South Africa take place. The Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 South Africa national final was open to all university student Valorant teams after exciting qualifiers across the country. Now, we have our winners, a team called Socks Up.

University Valorant players across South Africa who made it through the qualifiers in Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Gqebhera, Pretoria and Johannesburg competed in front of fans at Comic Con Africa in the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 South Africa national final this past weekend.

Beating out all the competition was Socks Up. According to a Press Release we’ve received, five friends formed the team roughly two years ago. Socks Up beat Cape Warriors in an intense finale, winning three out of the five maps to become the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 South African champions.

The captain of Socks Up states: “Winning was amazing, and we are so excited for the team because we were so committed, and we trained together almost every day so we could play as one. It still feels surreal that we are going to Brazil to represent South Africa, and hopefully, we can bring it home.”

After their winning performance at Comic Con Africa, Socks Up will compete at the World Final, a LAN event held in São Paulo, Brazil, in December 2022. There’s a prize pool of 20,000 Euros to compete for at this massive event and “an exclusive VIP experience at a 2023 VALORANT Champions Tour event.”
