VALORANT was one of the first games to feature at the Esports World Cup 2025 mega-event, and the tournament didn’t disappoint. With 16 teams competing for their share of the massive $1,250,000 prize pool and a whole bunch of Club Championship points on the line, sparks flew right from the start. Here’s how things went down, featuring a results report and highlights video.

In the Group Stage, it was Paper Rex who came out on top of Group A, BBL Esports in Group B, NRG in Group C, and Fnatic in Group D, with another one team per group qualifying to the Playoffs by the skin of their teeth.

In the Playoffs, Fnatic dominated Karmine Corp 2-0, and reverse-sweeped Paper Rex to make it to the Grand Final of EWC 2025 VALORANT.
On the other side of the bracket, it was Team Heretics who stood out, beating BBL Esports 2-0 and Gen.G Esports 2-1 to make it to the Grand Final.
On the final day of competition, Gen.G Esports beat Paper Rex 2-0 in the Third-Place Decider match to earn the $130,000 3rd-place prize, and Paper Rex limped away with $70,000.
At the start of the best-of-five Grand Final, Fnatic looked unstoppable, winning the first two maps (Lotus 13-4 and Sunset 13-1) with ease. Team Heretics bounced back in one of the greatest comebacks in recent history. Team Heretics won the following three maps (Icebox 13-11, Haven 13-10, and Ascent 13-10) to complete the reverse-sweep.
With their dramatic 3-2 win in the Grand Final, Team Heretics earns the $500,000 1st-place prize, while Fnatic gets $230,000 for their efforts.
