SSAlt Mine 1v1 Rocket League event with R15,000 prize pool
The sub-Saharan Africa Rocket League community is one of the most exciting in the esports scene, growing every month to the joy of local fans. We are excited to inform our readers about a 1v1 Rocket League event kicking off at the end of June, called the SSAlt Mine (great name!), which features a huge prize pool. Here’s what you need to know.

This is a 1v1 tournament that is completely free to enter, so if you think you have what it takes, head over to the SSAlt Mine Start.gg page to register today!
Registration closes before the event gets underway. The SSAlt Mine Rocket League tournament starts on 30 June 2023 and ends on 2 July 2023. Despite the free entry, there’s a huge prize pool to compete for with the following distribution.
- 1st – R5,000
- 2nd – R3,000
- 3rd/4th – R1,500
- 5th-8th – R1,000
Check out the tournament format for both stages of the competition as outlined by the organizers below.
Group Stage:
- The group stage will consist of 8 groups of 4 teams.
- Each team will play every other team in their group once.
- The top 2 teams from each group will progress to the Single Elimination Bracket.
- Each match will be Best-of-Five
- Tiebreaker rules are outlined in the ruleset
Single Elimination Bracket:
- The remaining 16 teams will compete through a Single Elimination Bracket
- Each match in Round 1 and Quarterfinals will be Best-of-Five
- Each match in the Semifinals and Grandfinals will be a Best-of-Seven

You can tune into the ACGL Alpha Twitch channel to watch all the Rocket League esports action, as it will be broadcasted by African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL)! Matches start at 17:00 on the day of the event.
