South Africans qualify for RLCS 2026 Boston Major
Back on 27 November 2025, esports organization Five Fears announced they would be stepping into the Rocket League esports scene to compete in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region for the RLCS 2026 season, fighting for a spot at the Boston Major.
Fast forward three months, and they’ve managed to do just that, beating out Pioneers at the RLCS 2026 SSA Open 3 event to qualify for the Boston Major. That means there will be two South African players representing the region in the United States later in February.
The Five Fears roster consists of:
- Brayden “gunz” Keith (South Africa)
- Gareth “Snowyy” Spiers (South Africa)
- Óscar “tehqoz” Arco (Spain)
For those who don’t know yet, the RLCS 2026 Boston Major will take place on LAN at the Agganis Arena in Boston, United States, from 19 to 22 February 2026. It’s the first international LAN Major of the season, it it’s incredibly exciting for us to know that two South Africans will be fighting for glory on the virtual pitch.
Just after the RLCS 2026 SSA Open 3 event finished up, the organization took to social media to celebrate the achievement, stating, “We’re going to Boston,” which was met with congratulations and shared excitement from their fans.
Stay tuned to Esports Central as we plan on following Five Fears through their journey at the Boston Major, and beyond. We plan to cover all the biggest Rocket League esports tournaments, including the RLCS 2026 SSA regional events.
