ACGL Grind Rocket League: What you need to know

Last week, South African tournament organizer African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) announced the multi-tournament ACGL Grind event, powered by Predator. Now, we look into the details for the first of these tournaments, ACGL Grind Rocket League. Here’s what you need to know.

ACGL Grind Rocket League details

You can register for the ACGL Grind Rocket League tournament right now by heading to its page on ACGL. Registration is completely free. The registrations close on 21 April 2023, the same day the tournament begins.

This is a 3v3 Rocket League tournament open to all platforms, namely PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The tournament has a baseline prize pool of R10,000 (which can be increased). Check out the baseline prize pool distribution below.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st place – R5,000
  • 2nd place – R2,500
  • 3rd place – R1,500
  • 4th place – R1,000

If you would like to see Rocket League return for ACGL Grind Season 2, and increase its prize pool, you should definitely use the #RLZAGrind hashtag on social media. ACGL explains: “Should the hashtag #RLZAGRIND gain the highest social reach in the ACGL Grind, the prizes will be increased by R6,000. For the 2nd highest reach it will be increased by R4,000. If it has the lowest, it will not return for the next #ACGLgrind. Reach can be tracked here.

The prize pool can be increased by reaching community goals, namely:

  • Get 32 sign ups, increase prize pool by R1,000
  • Get 750k social reach, increase prize pool by R2,000
  • Get 1 million social reach, increase prize pool by R1,000
  • Get 100 concurrent viewers in 3 streams, increase prize pool by R1,000

According to ACGL, fans can expect regular live streams via the ACGL Twitch channel. “This provides an opportunity for fans to not only watch the competition but also interact with the players and engage with the community.”

You can keep up to date with all their announcements by following ACGL on Twitter and Facebook and joining their Discord server. Remember to use the #RLZAGrind when talking about the event.
