OWCS Midseason Championship viewer’s guide

Are you ready, Overwatch fans? As part of the Esports World Cup 2025 mega-event, a huge Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS) Midseason Championship event is taking place, featuring the world’s best teams competing for a substantial prize pool. It’s taking place this week, so let’s dive in and discuss the key details!

OWCS Midseason Championship details

First and foremost, the OWCS Midseason Championship is taking place on LAN in Saudi Arabia, at the Boulevard Riyadh City, Qiddiya Arena. The event will take place from 31 July to 3 August 2025, boasting four days of non-stop action.

Teams are competing for their share of the huge $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R17.9 million.

The action begins with the Group Stage, featuring four groups of four teams each, with a GSL-style format. The top two teams from each group advance to the Playoffs Stage, while the rest are eliminated. In the Playoffs Stage, all matches are first-to-three, with the exception of the Grand Final, which is first-to-four. It’s a single-elimination bracket, so one error can send a team packing.
