Overwatch League 2023 results and final standings
The massive, crowning Overwatch 2 esports tournament, Overwatch League 2023 Playoffs, recently took place in Toronto, Canada, in front of a huge crowd at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. In case you couldn’t watch the esports action live on stream, we’ve got you covered with the results.
Overwatch League 2023 Playoffs results
The best eight (8) Overwatch 2 esports teams in the world competed for their share of the $1,855,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar/Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R35 million.
In the double-elimination style group stage, we saw Hangzhou Spark dominate Group A, taking no losses, while Boston Uprising came in second place. London Spitfire and Atlanta Reign were eliminated in Group A. In Group B, Florida Mayhem came out on top and was joined in the playoffs by Houston Outlaws, with Dallas Fuel and Seoul Infernal getting eliminated.
In the single-elimination bracket of Overwatch League 2023 Playoffs, Florida Mayhem beat Boston Uprising 3-1 to make it to the grand final, while Houston Outlaws demolished Hangzhou Spark 3-0 for a spot in the finals. However, Florida Mayhem’s winning streak could not be stopped in the grand final, beating Houston Outlaws 4-0 to claim the title of Overwatch world champions!
For their dominating performance (only losing one map throughout the event), Florida Mayhem gets the first-place prize of $1 million!
Final standings:
- 1st place – Florida Mayhem wins $1 million
- 2nd place – Houston Outlaws wins $400,000
- 3rd place – Hangzhou Spark wins $225,000
- 4th place – Boston Uprising wins $130,000
- 5th & 6th place – London Spitfire and Dallas Fuel win $50,000 each.
- 7th & 8th place – Atlanta Reign and Seoul Infernal win nothing.
