Toyota SA and TTGE partnership gets major boost

South African esports fans rejoice! The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE) is getting another major boost to its horsepower from Toyota SA and African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL). The aim is to make gaming more accessible to all, as the initiative is expanding to Gauteng, opening the doors to a huge new group of players.

FIFA remains at the heart of the project, but the organizers are also rolling out mobile gaming events. That means that there’s a tournament for you, open to everyone, on your mobile phone or on PlayStation. The best of the best from a large number of events will be mentored by pro gamers and will represent their communities at premier events, with the announcement specifically mentioning Comic Con and ACGL Gaming Championship (ACG) tournaments.

As per a press release we’ve received, the VP of Marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors, Glenn Crompton, comments:

“At Toyota, we believe in the power of sports to create a sense of inclusion and sustainable communities. It is for this reason that we are stepping into the game as a major sponsor of local Esports events. Our goal is clear – we want to uplift those who do not have access to gaming equipment. This extends beyond typical support – it is about unlocking potential in gamers who may not have had the chance to experience the thrill of competitive play.”

Mr. Crompton went on to talk about the future of esports in South Africa, stating:

“By making Esports accessible, we are not just leveling the playing field; we are creating a space where anyone can thrive, game, and grow. The future of Esports in South Africa is bright, and we invite everyone to be part of it.”

Well done, Toyota SA, well done! That’s precisely what we want, and we can’t wait to see how the TTGE and Toyota SA partnership further grows the local esports scene.
