rAge Digital Edition: Africa Games + Esports Careers Day schedule announced
This year’s rAge is going to be a bit different than what South Africans are used to. The rAge 2020 Digital Edition will be a completely online event – for those who didn’t know. You can also pick up free tickets to rAge Digital Edition on its Howler page. A tonne of esports tournaments will take place over the rAge weekend, from 6 to 8 November 2020. However, there are also some very interesting esports-related talks happening.
Africa Games + Esports Careers Day
What does it take to succeed in the gaming and esports industries? What opportunities are there for young South Africans? The Africa Games + Esports Careers Day, developed by Big5 Games, could answer some of these questions. Announced on NAG, the Africa Games + Esports Careers Day at this year’s rAge will see “industry pioneers and experts” talk about how they built their careers in the games industry, and even share where the “next big opportunities may lie”.
The speaks will include esports and gaming professionals from various parts of the industry in South Africa, including influencers, journalists, game developers and more. The Africa Games + Esports Careers Day will take place on 6 November.
Kevin Meltzer, the CEO and co-founder of Big5 Games, explains:
“We’re emphasizing the fact that there are many career opportunities in the gaming industry. The games market is truly global which means it offers a far larger audience than just the continent. With remote work now easily accepted there are gaming career paths available across the world.
We’re hoping to get more students and parents excited about the gaming industry, so that, rather than wanting to become the next big movie or music celebrity, the youth of Africa want to become the next big gaming stars.”
