GamePlay show announced as SuperSport Schools & ACGL partner up
What a time to be alive! We are excited to share the news of a new partnership between African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) and SuperSport Schools, bringing a brand-new show called “GamePlay” to life.
Before we get to the partnership details and further announcements, please know that “GamePlay” will be accessible to audiences across SuperSport Schools’ platforms and on DStv channel 216! The show will debut on 16 May at 19:00 SAST, so mark your calendars and set those alarms.
ACGL x SuperSport Schools
Just in case you didn’t know, ACGL has been at the forefront of esports in schools in South Africa. Thanks to Nitro ASL, there are over 160 schools registered and the community just keeps on expanding. SuperSport Schools is Africa’s leading broadcast platform for school sports, so the partnership between ACGL and SuperSport Schools is a match made in heaven.
Collins “Skarra” Manyame will be hosting the show, which promises local esports action, interviews, and expert analysis. Collins is, of course, a Twitch streamer and ACGL’s Social Manager, with a tonne of experience in the field.
Nicholas Holden, the Co-Owner of ACGL, explains: “This partnership represents a monumental step forward for esports in Africa. Together with SuperSport Schools, we are not just promoting esports; we are cultivating a thriving ecosystem where young talent can grow, shine, and potentially compete on the global stage. Our collaboration is set to ignite a transformative journey, turning today’s passionate gamers into tomorrow’s esports champions. We’re ready to level up the game and showcase the incredible potential of African esports to the world!”
