MSI 2025 results and finals standings
At the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada, the best League of Legends (LoL) esports teams in the world competed for their share of the $2 million prize pool during the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2025 event. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R35.5 million.
The 10 best teams were also fighting for the first spot at LoL Worlds 2025, which goes to the winner. Here’s how things went down!
MSI 2025 results report
In the Play-In Stage, four teams competed for just two spots in the main event of MSI 2025, with G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming coming out on top.
Defending champions Gen.G Esports and top seed from the LCK got off to a flying start in the Playoffs Bracket. They first beat G2 Esports with a convincing 3-1, then went on to beat Anyone’s Legend in a close 3-2, and T1 in another close 3-2 to reach the Grand Final.
After defeating CTBC Flying Oyster in a 3-2 comeback and smashing Bilibili Gaming 3-0, T1 lost 3-2 to Gen.G Esports in the Upper Bracket Final. The squad bounced back to beat Anyone’s Legend 3-2 for a rematch against Gen.G in the Grand Final of MSI 2025.
On the day, Gen.G Esports was simply too strong for T1 to handle. They beat T1 in a narrow 3-2 Grand Final, coming back from a 1-2 deficit, to lift the MSI 2025 trophy. Gen.G Esports is the first team to claim a spot at Worlds 2025, provided they make it to the LCK Playoffs, which is highly likely. It was Gen.G Esports’ midlaner, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, who won the MVP award for his dominating performance throughout the tournament.
