LoL Worlds Swiss Stage teams set as four survive Play-In

The first week of the League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds) is done and dusted, and with it, four of the eight teams in the Play-In stage have survived, while the other four have been eliminated. Let’s take a look at who made it through to the Swiss Stage.

In the opening Play-In stage, MAD Lions KOI got off to a great start, beating Vikings Esports 2-0 and PSG Talon 2-1 to qualify for the Swiss Stage. GAM Esports also stepped up their game by beating Fukuoka HAWKS Gaming and Rainbow7, both with 2-0 scores.

Brazilian side paiN Gaming stepped it up in the elimination matches and beat Vikings Esports and Rainbow7 with 2-0 scores to qualify for the Swiss Stage, while PSG Talon beat 100 Thieves for the final spot in the LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage. Take a look at all the teams competing in the Swiss Stage, which runs from 3 to 13 October 2024.

There’s a lot at stake for the teams 16 remaining teams, who are competing for their share of the $2,225,000 prize pool and the glory of lifting the Summoner’s Cup. At the current Dollar/Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R39 million.

In the Swiss Stage, 16 teams will compete for only eight spots in the Playoffs. We will see the remaining eight teams in the playoffs compete in best-of-five matches until only one survives. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top and becomes the new LoL world champion.
