LCK 2025 Season rounds 1 & 2 overview
While many other League of Legends (LoL) regions have already started their Split 2 events, the biggest of them all has to be League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), widely considered the best region for Riot Games’ popular MOBA. That’s why I’m excited to report that following the LCK Cup, the LCK 2025 Season’s first portion kicks off this week. Here’s what you need to know.
LCK 2025 Round 1 & 2 details
The 10 best LoL teams from the region will compete at the LoL Park venue in Seoul, South Korea. The LCK 2025 Season Round 1 and 2 begins this week, on Wednesday, 2 April 2025. The first two rounds of the LCK 2025 Season will run until 1 June 2025. Teams are competing for one of six spots to qualify for the Road to MSI event.
It’s exceptionally important for all the squads, as the Mid-Season Invitational is one of the biggest LoL esports events of the year. The teams competing are outlined below, including world champions T1.
- T1
- Gen.G
- Dplus
- BRION
- FearX
- Freecs
- KT Rolster
- Hanwha Life Esports
- Nongshim RedForce
- DRX
The format is double Round-Robin, with all matches being best-of-three. For the Round 1 and 2 matches, the Fearless Draft system is used. This means that teams cannot play a Champion more than once during a best-of-three series, opening up exciting strategic possibilities. The top six teams qualify for the Road to MSI event, where the top two will qualify for both the MSI and EWC 2025 events.
LoL esports fans can watch all the thrilling action via the official LCK Twitch channel, and catch up with highlights and full VODs via the LCK Global YouTube channel. Matches begin at roughly 10:00 am SAST each day, so it’s a good one to watch for local gamers.
