EWC 2025 League of Legends results and highlights vid

The League of Legends (LoL) tournament at the Esports World Cup 2025 mega-event didn’t disappoint, as the best teams from each region competed for glory and a massive prize pool of $2,010,000. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R35.5 million. Here’s how things went down on Summoner’s Rift!

It all began with a grueling Group Stage, where G2 Esports, FlyQuest, Hanwha Life, and KOI survived to make it to the Playoffs Stage, where top seeds Gen.G Esports, BiliBili Gaming, T1, and Anyone’s Legend were lying in wait.

Gen.G Esports got off to a flying start in the single-elimination Playoffs Stage, beating FlyQuest 2-0 in the Quarterfinals, and then G2 Esports in a narrow 2-1 to make it to the Grand Finals.

On the other side of the bracket, Anyone’s Legend came out swinging, beating KOI 2-1 and then defeating the defending champions, T1, with a convincing 2-0 score to make their way to the Grand Finals.

In the best-of-five Grand Finals, Gen.G Esports took the first two games, but Anyone’s Legend showed their prowess, recovering to win the next two. In the end, it was G2 Esports who won the final game, for a 3-2 scoreline.

In the third-place decider match, T1 beat G2 Esports in a clean 2-0, showing why they are still one of the best teams in the world.

Congratulations go out to Gen.G Esports for winning the EWC 2025 LoL tournament in style to claim the lion’s share of the prize pool at $600,000, and to their top player, Kim “Kiin” Ki-in, for winning the MVP award.
