Street Fighter 6 EWC 2025 viewer’s guide
The Esports World Cup 2025 mega-event is finishing up this weekend, on 24 August. However, there are still a few big tournaments to go, including CS2 and Street Fighter 6. This viewer’s guide focuses on the latter, so let’s jump in!
EWC Street Fighter 6 details
First up, I am saddened to report that South African Jabhi “JabhiM” Mabuza from Goliath Gaming didn’t make it to the main event. However, he did well enough to get to Saudi Arabia and compete there in the Last Chance Qualifier, where he finished in the upper half of the pack, with a 25th-32nd place, winning $1250.
The Street Fighter 6 tournament at EWC 2025 runs for four days, from 20 to 23 August 2025. There are 48 players competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R17.5 million! Not only does the winner of the tournament get a huge helping of cash, $250,000, but they also get a direct invite to the upcoming Capcom Cup 12, scheduled to take place in March 2026.
Three stages of competition will take place, starting with two group stages to whittle down the number of players. It all ends with a single-elimination bracket, where the top four players will compete in first-to-five matches to determine a winner.
