Mettlestate gets Powered By Music: More casual cash cups!

For years now, every Monday, we share the one-day casual Cash Cup offerings for local gamers to enjoy straight from South African tournament organizer Mettlestate. For the next few months, you’ll have five more Cash Cups per week, thanks to Mettlestate and Spotify.

First up, Mettlestate explains in an announcement post:

“Gaming and music are a dynamic duo, complementing each other to create unforgettable moments and experiences. Recognizing this synergy, Spotify has launched the Powered by Music campaign to bring gamers closer to the music they love. Powered by Music lets gamers influence their go-to in-game music soundtrack. The campaign centers around an interactive playlist where gamers can add their favorite tracks, creating a unique blend of music genres from international and local artists, perfect for your gaming sessions.”

So what does that boil down to for you, the casual esports enthusiasts? Well, from 15 July to 15 September, there are a bunch more Casual Cash Cups over on the Mettlestate events page to participate in, roughly five per week by our count. We’ll share details of the weekly cash cups (should now be 10 per week) each Monday, as per usual.

Registrations for these Powered by Music cash cups close roughly two hours before the events begin, with check-in during the hour before. All tournaments are free to enter and feature a base prize pool of R1,000, which increases to R2,000 depending on the players’ VIP status.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st place: R500 (R1,000 with VIP)
  • 2nd place: R300 (R600 with VIP)
  • 3rd place: R200 (R400 with VIP)

Nice one, Mettlestate and Spotify!

Good luck to everyone who enters any and all of these awesome casual cups. Don’t forget to keep updated with the latest happenings for Mettlestate tournaments by following them on Twitter and joining their Discord server.
