MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience at CapeGate Mall this weekend
In partnership with MTN, alongside sponsors such as Toyota, PC Builder, Computer Mania, and Redragon, South African tournament organizer African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) is bringing the esports action to participating Hyprop Malls via the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience, and this weekend, it’s CapeGate Mall’s turn. Here’s what you need to know!
MTN SHIFT Gaming at CapeGate Mall
The MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience at CapeGate Mall runs from 23 to 25 August 2024, featuring an EA FC 24 qualifier for a huge national finals in September. The winner will go through to the National Final, taking place on 15 September 2024 at Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Cape Town, where they will compete for their share of the R50,000 prize pool.
This is, of course, an in-person event. You should head on over to the CapeGate Mall (Centre Court) to enjoy the experience, from 09:00 to 17:00 daily. Entry is completely free of charge.
CapeGate Qualifier Prizes:
- 1st Place – R2500 CapeGate Gift Card
2nd Place – R1500 CapeGate Gift Card
3rd Place – R1000 CapeGate Gift Card

Speaking of which…Following all the EA FC 24 events, the National Final of the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience 2024 will take place in Cape Town at the Canal Walk. The eight finalists from each mall competition will compete for their share of the R50,000 prize pool, with the following prize pool distribution:
- 1st Place: R25,000
- 2nd Place: R15,000
- 3rd Place: R7,500
- 4th Place: R2,500
