Wildcard claims TI 2025 NA Closed Qualifier win
It’s been a wild ride for Dota 2 esports fans as the best remaining teams who didn’t receive a direct invite to The International 2025 have been duking it out in their regional Closed Qualifiers. We’ve already covered the Eastern European, China, and South American results. Now, it’s time to take a look at what went down at the North American Closed Qualifier.
Wildcard triumphs in NA Closed Qualifier
In the first round of the double-elimination bracket, Wildcard got a free win due to a forfeit by Team Slayers, as the squad was unable to field a complete roster. From there, Wildcard 2-0’ed BSJ and friends in the Upper Bracket Semifinals, before shocking fans across the globe as they cleanly beat favorites, Shopify Rebellion, with a 2-0!
With the win over Shopify Rebellion, Wildcard Gaming found themselves in the Grand Final of the TI 2025 NA Closed Qualifier. Shopify Rebellion bounced back in the Lower Bracket Final to beat BSJ and friends to claim a spot in the Grand Final.
The TI 2025 NA Closed Qualifier Grand Final was the closest one yet. Wildcard took down the first game in 30 minutes, and Shopify Rebellion responded with a solid win of their own. Wildcard took another quick game to lead the series 2-1, before Shopify Rebellion responded with a huge win that took over 70 minutes to tie the score 2-2. In the end, it was Wildcard who won the final game to claim a 3-2 victory, and the final NA regional slot at The International 2025.
