Valve delays next Dota 2 hero and mentions next Dota Plus season
We’ve been expecting the next Dota 2 hero to release at the end of November. Unfortunately, Dota 2 fans will have to wait a bit longer for the new hero, as Valve has decided to delay it by a couple of weeks. The developer also mentioned a new season of Dota Plus is starting soon and commented on the next gameplay update.
Next Dota 2 hero, Dota Plus and Gameplay Update
While we still don’t know a lot about the new Dota 2 hero, now know it will arrive in mid-December, thanks to a new blog post by Valve. The developer also mentioned the new hero is a “she” which is the first real, official detail Valve has shared.
Valve explains the delay:
“On the gameplay front, our original plan for the new hero was November 30th, however, she needs a bit more time to cosy up for the winter. We will be releasing her, along with the 7.28 gameplay update, in mid-December.”
At the time of writing, no further information about the new Dota 2 hero and the Gameplay Update 7.28 has been revealed. We will just have to wait and see what the exact release date will be. According to Valve, the next Dota Plus season will kick off on 1 December. The new season will feature a seasonal quest reset, as well as a new seasonal treasure and more for players to unlock.
Lastly, Valve also started rolling in backend changes so they can gather data for the upcoming Overwatch features coming to the game. When this feature is fully implemented, Dota 2 players will be able to review suspicious matches, thereby possibly identifying “bad actors”.
