Team Liquid claims the crown at PGL Wallachia Season 3
From 8 to 16 March 2025, some of the best Dota 2 esports teams in the world converged on the PGL Studio in Bucharest, Romania, to compete at PGL Wallachia Season 3. On Sunday, 16 March, the massive event came to a thrilling conclusion in front of a passionate crowd, so let’s jump in and take a look at what happened.
PGL Wallachia Season 3 results
After an exciting Group Stage, 16 teams were whittled down to just eight. The eight remaining teams at PGL Wallachia Season 3 competed in the double-elimination Playoffs Stage for their share of the huge $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R18.2 million.
Team Liquid topped the Group Stage and continued their reign of terror in the Playoffs. First, Team Liquid reverse-sweeped Aurora Gaming then sent Chinese powerhouse Xtreme Gaming to the lower bracket and knocked down Team Falcons to make it to the grand finale of PGL Wallachia Season 3.
Tundra Esports had a tougher time to get to the Grand Final. After reverse-sweeping Gaimin Gladiators in the opening match, they got knocked down to the lower bracket by Team Falcons. From here, Tundra Esports made a respectable lower-bracket run, knocking out Aurora Gaming, Team Spirit, and Team Falcons.
In the best-of-five Grand Final of PGL Wallachia Season 3, it was Team Liquid who put an end to Tundra Esports’ winning streak, smashing them 3-1 to claim the title of champions and the first-place prize. You can just out the final standings from PGL Wallachia Season 3 below.
- 1st place – Team Liquid wins $300,000.
- 2nd place – Tundra Esports wins $175,000.
- 3rd place – Team Falcons wins $120,000.
- 4th place – Team Spirit wins $80,000.
- 5th & 6th place – Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming win $60,000 each.
- 7th & 8th place – Team Tidebound and Gaimin Gladiators win $40,000 each.
- 9th to 11th place – Yellow Submarine, NAVI and HEROIC win $20,000 each.
- 12th to 14th place – AVULUS, Nigma Galaxy, and Wildcard Gaming win $15,000 each.
- 15th & 16th place – Mosquito Clan and OG win $10,000 each.
