LoL Challenger Series S5 kicks this week

Are you a League of Legends (LoL) esports fan who happens to have a team ready to go? Well, then you shouldn’t miss out on the LoL Challenger Series Season 5 from South African tournament organizer Mettlestate, which begins later this month. So you don’t miss out, we’ve got you covered with all the essential details.

LoL Challenger Series S5 details

As always, registration is completely free. Head on over to the event’s page on Mettlestate to enter with your team in the Open Division, if you haven’t already competed and got promoted in previous seasons. Keep in mind that you will need to move quickly, as registration closes on 23 April 2023, starting with the group stage. The playoffs and grand finals begin on 15 May 2023.

At the end of the season, the bottom four teams from the Pro division and the top 4 teams from the Open division each season will play once again for promotion and relegation. After completing a single elimination bracket, the top four teams on the board will be promoted to and seeded for the Pro division in the following season, and the bottom four will be relegated to Open.

There is a total prize pool of R10,000 to compete for. R3,000 is for the Open Division, while R7,000 is for the Pro Division. Check out the prize pool distributions below.

Open Division:
  • 1st place – R1,500
  • 2nd place – R1,000
  • 3rd place – R500
Pro Division:
  • 1st place – R3,500
  • 2nd place – R2,500
  • 3rd place – R1,000
