It’s no secret that the Esports World Cup mega-event is an unmissable experience for esports fans to watch at home, enjoying all the action and your favorite titles on display. That’s where the EWC 2025 Dota 2 tournament comes in, so let’s just jump straight into the important details.

Dota 2 EWC 2025 details

From 8 to 19 July 2025, the EWC 2025 Dota 2 event will take place live in Boulevard Riyadh City in Saudi Arabia. 16 of the best Dota 2 esports teams from across the globe will compete for their share of a massive $3 million prize pool. That’s roughly R53 million!

The teams are divided into four groups of four teams each in Phase 1. The group stage will follow a round-robin format. All matches consist of two games, with the best team from each group advancing to Phase 3 of the tournament. The 2nd place team from each group advances to the second round of Phase 2, and the remaining teams from each group advance th the first round of Phase 2.

In Phase 2, there’s a Gauntlet bracket, with teams matched based on their standings in Phase 1. Four teams will will advance to Phase 3, joining the other four teams who have previously made their way through due to ending top of their group in Phase 1. The Playoffs Stage (Phase 3), runs from 16 to 19 July 2025, and features a single-elimination bracket.
