Riyadh Masters 2024 details

From this Thursday, 4 July 2024, until 21 July 2024, we’ll see the best Dota 2 teams in the world compete for their share of the $5 million prize pool in Saudi Arabia at Riyadh Boulevard City. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R90 million, making it one of the biggest esports competitions ever.

Eight teams have qualified thanks to their placement on the EPT leaderboard, while another 12 have earned spots via their respective regional qualifiers. The action begins with the qualifier teams competing in two groups of six teams each, featuring a round-robin format and BO2 matches from 4 to 7 July.

Teams who make it out of the Play-In stage will compete against the invited teams in the Group Stage, from 10 to 14 July 2024. Two groups of eight teams each, featuring a round-robin format and BO2 matches, is the format of the Group Stage. The top four teams from each group of the Group Stage advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while 5th and 6th-placed teams advance to the lower bracket, and the rest are eliminated.

From 16 to 21 July, we’ll see the playoffs of the Riyadh Masters 2024 occur. The playoffs feature a double-elimination bracket format, where all matches are BO3, except for the grand final, which is BO5.
