FISSURE Playground #1 viewer’s guide for Dota 2 fans

Starting this Friday (24 January 2025), the first huge offline LAN event of 2025 for Dota 2 esports fans to enjoy will begin. We are, of course, talking about the FISSURE Playground #1 tournament, with the best teams in the world competing for their share of a massive prize pool. Let’s jump in and discuss the essential details viewers need to know about.

FISSURE Playground #1 details

The FISSURE Playground #1 tournament will be held at the Sava Centar venue in Belgrade, Serbia, from 24 January to 2 February 2025. Sixteen teams will compete for their share of the $1 million prize pool, which is roughly R18.8 million.

The tournament format will see all teams compete in a modified swiss-system format from 24 to 27 January as part of the Group Stage, with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs and the bottom eight sent packing.

From 28 January to 2 February, the remaining teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket playoff. All matches are best-of-three, except for the grand finale, which is best-of-five.

With the event taking place in Serbia, the timing of matches should be good for South Africans.
