ESL One Bangkok 2024 viewer’s guide
After a packed year, there’s one more top-tier Dota 2 esports tournament for fans to enjoy. I am, of course, talking about ESL One Bangkok 2024, which runs this week until the grand finale on Sunday, 15 December 2024. Let’s dive in and discuss the most important details so you don’t miss out.
ESL One Bangkok details
At ESL One Bangkok 2024, 12 teams are competing on LAN in front of a crowd at the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The prize pool is a fresh $1 million, which is roughly R18 million at the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate.
The action began on 9 December with a Round-Robin group stage which will run until 11 December 2024. There are two groups of six teams each, and all matches consist of two games. The top two teams from each group qualify for the upper bracket of the playoffs, and the third/fourth place teams advance to the lower bracket, while the rest are eliminated. You can check out the teams in their respective groups below.
Group A Teams:
- Team Falcons
- Shopify Rebellion
- Team Spirit
- NAVI
- BOOM Esports
- AVULUS
Group B Teams:
- BetBoom Team
- Nigma Galaxy
- Team Liquid
- PARIVISION
- M80
- Gaozu
Once the dust settles over the group stage, teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket (12 to 15 December), where all matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is BO5. This is, of course, the last big Dota 2 esports event of the year and definitely one that fans shouldn’t miss out on.
