DreamLeague Season 20 results: GG reigns supreme
Over the past weekend, Dota 2 esports fans were treated to some top-tier action as the DreamLeague Season 20 event finished up, where 16 of the best teams in the world competed for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and two spots at the Riyadh Masters 2023, which takes place in July. Here’s what went down.
DreamLeague Season 20 results
While the group stage was a bit rough for Gaimin Gladiators (3rd place in Group B), the team showed why they are currently considered the best in the world. Gaimin Gladiators, of course, won the Lima Major, the ESL One Berlin Major, and DreamLeague Season 19!
In the playoffs over the weekend, Gaiming Gladiators pulled themselves together at the last moment, beating Talon Esports 2-1 with a reverse sweep in the lower bracket semi-finals. Then, in the lower bracket final, Gaimin Gladiators again pulled off a massive reverse sweep, this time beating Chinese juggernauts PSG.LGD 2-1!
The team wasn’t done with comebacks just yet, showing their big match temperament in the grand final against BetBoom Team. Gaimin Gladiators won the first game but lost the next two, putting BetBoom Team one win away from the DreamLeague Season 20 trophy.
However, Gaimin Gladiators came back swinging one last time, winning the next two games to close out the DreamLeague Season 20 grand final in style, and providing Dota 2 esports fans with some of the most exciting matches in recent memory.
