Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 announced
With Gaimin Gladiators recently decimating their opponents at the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 and the next round of regional DPC events kicking off, there’s no shortage of Dota 2 esports action. But what is the final Major of the year before The International 2023? Well, the Bali Major 2023 has been announced!
Bali Major 2023 first details
IO Esports, in collaboration with EPULZE, has announced the Bali Major 2023, the first Dota 2 Major to take place in Indonesia. It runs from 29 June to 9 July 2023 and will feature 18 qualified Dota 2 esports teams following the last DPC regional events.
To be clear, the venue looks fantastic. It is the Ayana Estate, a 5-star resort near the beach in Bali, Indonesia. Here, teams will compete for their share of the huge $500,000 prize pool and 3,500 DPC points up for grabs.
The format is the same as recent Dota 2 Majors. The group stage of Bali Major 2023 features two groups of nine (9) teams each. All matches are BO2 with a single round-robin format. The top four teams advance to the upper bracket, while the 5th and 6th place teams advance to the lower bracket. The bottom three (3) teams are eliminated. The final 12 teams will compete in the playoffs following the group stage. This stage follows a double-elimination bracket format, with all matches being best-of-three, except for the grand final, which is best-of-five.
It will be very exciting to see if Gaimin Gladiators can keep up their form and win three Majors in a row or if another team will step up and take the crown. Here at Esports Central, we will be bringing you all the coverage and results, so stay tuned.
