We don’t get many top-tier esports events in the southern hemisphere, so to learn that Intel Extreme Master (IEM) will return to Australia later this year should definitely be exciting for CS:GO esports fans! Yes, after four years, IEM returns to Sydney this October, and we can’t wait. Here’s what we know so far.

ESL announced the “Big Reunion” as IEM Sydney 2023 will take place in Aware Super Theatre, ICC Sydney, Australia, in October. To be precise, IEM Sydney 2023 is part of the Intel Grand Slam series and will run from 16 to 22 October, where 16 of the best teams in the world will compete for their share of the $250,000 prize pool.
The announcement reads:
“G’day mates! It’s been quite a while since we last graced the land Down Under. Four long years have passed since we unleashed the awe-inspiring extravaganza known as IEM Sydney upon the world.
But fear not, for this October, brace yourselves as The Intel® Extreme Masters returns to Sydney being hosted for the first time at the Aware Super Theatre, ICC Sydney. Prepare to witness firsthand why Aussies are renowned for being the liveliest, rowdiest, and undeniably the funniest crowd on the face of this planet.
Join us in celebrating The Big Reunion, as we dive headfirst into a weekend filled with world-class Counter-Strike action. Whether you join us in person or tune in from the comfort of your home, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!”
