IEM Rio Major Legends Stage teams & Challenger results

As one of the biggest CS:GO esports events of the year, we’ve been closely following the IEM Rio Major 2022, taking place in Brazil. In the Challengers Stage, we saw sixteen teams compete for only eight spots in the Legends Stage, edging one step closer to the IEM Rio Major 2022 playoffs. Here’s what went down.

Rio Major Challengers Stage results

Throughout the weekend and into this week, we saw teams competing their hearts out. There were some surprising eliminations along the way. In the end, these eight teams made it to the Legends Stage, which is set to kick off this Saturday and run until next Tuesday.

  • MOUZ
  • Bad News Eagles
  • BIG
  • Cloud9
  • Team Vitality
  • FURIA
  • Fnatic
  • Outsiders

These eight teams above will join the Legends status teams.

Legends Status teams:
  • Na’Vi
  • NIP
  • FaZe Clan
  • ENCE
  • Heroic
  • Sprout
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Spirit

The Legends stage of the IEM Rio Major 2022 follows the same format as the Challengers stage.

  • 16 Team Swiss System Format.
  • Elimination and Advancement matches are Bo3.
  • All other matches are Bo1.

The top eight teams from the Legends stage will make it to the Champions stage of the IEM Rio Major 2022, while the bottom eight will get eliminated.

Teams will compete for their share of the $1,250,000 prize pool here. We’ve already seen quite a few upsets, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
