ESIC bans 35 Australian CS:GO players for betting-related offences
Back in September 2020, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) revealed a report finding 37 coaches guilty of using the infamous CS:GO spectator bug in tournaments. Now, the ESIC has announced they have banned 35 Australian CS:GO players for betting-related offences.
35 CS:GO players banned
ESIC shared the results of their investigation into the CS:GO players on Twitter, and issued sanctions against the 35 players for betting-related offences. Further, ESIC has extended the ban for two players previously sanctioned in October 2020.
In a follow-up tweet, ESIC clarified the bans issued are not for match-fixing. ESIC explained: “ESIC is of the view that there is a high possibility that it will issue match-fixing charges arising from the ongoing investigations, potentially including against players sanctioned today.” There’s a full report on the ESIC website, detailing the investigations.

In order to preserve the integrity of the esports landscape internationally and mitigate the potential for bad actors to take advantage of our sport.”
The CS:GO players who have received bans after the latest ESIC investigation results can appeal these charges. They can email the chairman of the Independent Disciplinary Panel with their appeals.
