CS_Summit 7: Everything you need to know

CS:GO esports fans are in for a treat this week, as the CS_Summit 7 tournament from Beyond the Summit kicks off today, 25 January. This new tournament will run until 31st January 2021, providing fans with six days of non-stop CS:GO action. Here’s what you need to know about CS_Summit 7.

CS_Summit 7: All the important details

First up, CS_Summit 7 features some, but not all of the top teams in the world, from Heroic to OG and more. A total of 12 teams will be fighting for their share of the $200,000 prize pool, which is roughly R3 million, so there will be a whole lot of talent on display.

Groups for CS_Summit 7 has already been drawn as well, and you can check them out below, as well as the teams who will be participating.

Group A:

  • Complexity
  • Fnatic
  • Dignitas

Group B:

  • Heroic
  • Mousesports
  • FaZe Clan
  • MIBR

Group C:

  • FURIA
  • Cloud9
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Virtus.pro

CS_Summit 7 will start off with a double-elimination (GSL) format in the group stage. All matches will be best-of-three. Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group will make their way to the playoffs. The bottom two teams in each group will have to fight their way through the Last Chance stage for one of two spots in the playoffs.

The Last Chance stage features a single-elimination bracket with teams seeded based on their performance in the group stage. In the CS_Summit 7 playoffs, the format will be another single-elimination bracket, with all matches being best-of-three.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off each day (25 to 31 January) starting at 16:00 SAST. You can watch all the CS:GO esports via the BTSCSGO Twitch.tv channel.
