Con.ect this weekend with esports and much more

If you happen to be in Gqeberha or surrounding areas this weekend, then you shouldn’t miss out on the Con.ect, the annual geek and gaming convention in the area. There’s cosplay, gaming, 60 unique stalls, food trucks, and much more. There are also some esports tournaments thanks to South African tournament organizer ACGL, so don’t miss out.

Con.ect 2022 esports details

Con.ect 2022 takes place this Saturday, 26 November 2022, from 09:00 to 18:00 at the NMU Madibaz Indoor Sports Centre. Entry into the event via Webtickets costs R30, or you can buy a ticket at the door on the day for R50.

There is a BYOC LAN with tickets priced at R150. This overnight LAN takes place on 25th November, and you also get entry into Con.ect the next day. Then, there are some esports tournaments, which is what we are all about, of course.

The CS:GO tournament has a ticket price of R400 per team. Check it out over on ACGL’s dedicated Con.ect page and tournament page. Note: It appears that entries have been closed, but you can still have some fun watching the local CS:GO esports action. There is, however, a FIFA tournament to enjoy.

FIFA at Con.ect details

There is a 32-player FIFA cup happening at Con.ect powered by Braintree Gaming, and you can simply walk in and enjoy. It starts at 09:40 on 26 November with check-ins opening at 09:00, and the first place prize is R300 and an ACGL OG1 Hoodie, while the second place prize is R200. The tournament will be played on supplied PS4 consoles, so there is no need to bring your own.

ACGL explains: ACGL is bringing more ways to engage and win at Con.ect! From Free to play consoles, exclusive shop discounts, a 32-player FIFA cup, as well as a bunch of giveaways up for grabs!

There are even more ways to compete and win at Con.ect. Check out some other activities as listed below, alongside a short description.

  • Aim Labs – Got aim? Show us at the AOC + Kloppers booth and stand a chance to win an AOC 24G2SP and more!
  • Keyboard Rebuild – How fast can you rebuild a mechanical keyboard? The fastest time of the day and a random draw winner will receive awesome Redragon gear!
  • Mobile Leaderboard – Compete in the CODM Kills leaderboard and the Subway Surfers points leaderboards. Mobile gaming gear and a Poco phone up for grabs!

It all does sound like a lot of fun, so we urge gamers in the Nelson Mandela Bay area to go and experience Con.ect this Saturday. You won’t be disappointed.
