BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 Viewer’s Guide

There’s a lot of top-tier CS:GO esports action this year, and one of our favourite tournament organizers, BLAST Premier, is opening things up with the Spring Groups 2023 event. Here’s everything you need to know about the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 tournament so you don’t miss a second of the action.

BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 details

This week, the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 tournament begins on Thursday, 19 January 2023. It runs until 29 January. It is an offline LAN event in Denmark, Copenhagen, at the BLAST Studio.

Check out the tournament format below, featuring the essential details of all three stages.

Group Stage:
  • 3 Double-Elimination (GSL style) groups.
  • 4 teams in each group.
  • All matches are best-of-one (BO1).
  • No teams are eliminated.
Play-In Stage:
  • 3 single-elimination brackets.
  • All matches are best-of-three (BO3).
  • The winner of each bracket qualifies for the Spring Finals.
  • 2nd and 3rd-place teams advance to the Last Chance Stage.
  • 4th placed team from each bracket advance to the Spring Showdown.
Last Chance Stage:
  • Single-elimination bracket format.
  • All matches are best-of-three.
  • Winners of this stage qualify for the Spring Finals.
  • Losing teams all go into the Spring Showdown.

A total of 12 teams will be competing for their share of the $177,500 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s just shy of R3 million. Teams also get a share of the BLAST Premier points up for grabs, as they started their 2023 journey towards a possible spot in the World Final.

You can watch all the esports action from BLAST Premier on the tournament organizer’s official Twitch channel, so don’t miss out. Broadcasts are expected to start at roughly 13:00 each day.
