Your complete guide to IEM Chengdu 2025

Are you ready for the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Chengdu 2025 event, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans? Well, ready or not, here it comes! Yes, the next big CS2 tournament takes place in China soon, and you definitely shouldn’t miss out.

IEM Chengdu 2025 viewer’s guide

The tournament is scheduled to take place on LAN at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center in China, where teams are competing for their share of the $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R17.5 million to compete for.

The tournament runs for roughly one week, starting on Monday, 3 November 2025. There are two stages of competition, namely the Group Stage and the Playoffs Stage.

The Group Stage of IEM Chengdu 2025 boasts two double-elimination GSL-style format groups of eight teams each. All matches in this stage are BO3. The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs Stage, with placement in the Single-Elimination bracket based on their performance in the Group Stage. Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Third-Place Decider matches are BO3, and the Grand Final is BO5.

The IEM Changdu 2025 Grand Final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025, starting at 10:00 SAST.
