Your complete guide to IEM Atlanta 2026

Dubbed as the “new home of North American Counter-Strike,” we can’t wait for IEM Atlanta 2026 to get started. It’s one of the final top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports events before IEM Cologne Major 2026, marking a last chance for teams to find some momentum leading into the crowning Major Championship event. Here’s what you need to know.

Important IEM Atlanta 2026 event details

IEM Atlanta 2026 runs during the same timeframe as PGL Astana 2026, which means some top teams, such as Team Falcons and Team Spirit, are in Astana instead of Atlanta.

The tournament runs from 11 to 17 May 2026, boasting one week of non-stop CS2 esports action for fans to consume. Hosted by ESL as part of the Intel Extreme Masters series, IEM Atlanta features a huge $1 million prize pool. That’s roughly R16.5 million at the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate. The prize pool is divided into a Player Share of $300,000 and a Club Share of $700,000.

The tournament takes place in front of a crowd at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
