Attention, local Counter-Strike 2 esports fans! Three South African teams will be competing at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Middle Eastern Closed Qualifier this weekend, with two spots at the Asia-Pacific RMR up for grabs, so we’ll definitely be watching closely. Here’s what you need to know.

Copenhagen Major Middle Eastern Closed Qualifier

For those who don’t know, earlier in January, there was a South African open qualifier to get to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Middle Eastern Closed Qualifier. Bravado Gaming, Nixuh, and Goliath Gaming made it through the qualifier and will now compete in the Closed Qualifier for two spots in the Asia-Pacific RMR.

The ultimate goal is to make it through this Closed Qualifier and the then Asia-Pacific RMR for a possible spot in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, taking place in March at the Royal Arena, Denmark. We are, of course, hoping that one of the South African teams completes this daunting and exciting journey.

If you want to support these teams by watching the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Middle Eastern Closed Qualifier, you should know it runs this weekend, from 19 to 21 January 2024.

Teams competing:
  • Bravado Gaming
  • Nixuh
  • Goliath Gaming
  • DEATHROW
  • Team Shush
  • JiJieHao
  • Onyx Ravens
  • POGGERZ

The tournament format is a double-elimination bracket, with all intermediary matches being best-of-one and all advancement and elimination matches being best-of-three. The top two teams get a spot in the Asia-Pacific RMR!

You can tune in to the official PGL Twitch channel to watch the action unfold.
