PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 viewer’s guide
Are you ready for one of the biggest Counter-Strike 2 esports events of the year and one of the most anticipated? Yes, the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the first-ever CS2 Major Championship, starts this Sunday, 17 March 2024! Here’s what you need to know so you don’t miss any of the action.
PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 details
First up, in case you missed it, two South Africans (Complexity’s IGL, Johnny “JT” Theodosiou, and coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen) will be at PGL Major Copenhagen.
The tournament takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the playoffs will be in front of a massive crowd at the Royal Arena venue. The PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 runs from this Sunday, 17 March, until 31 March 2024, where one of the 24 teams competing will lift the first-ever CS2 Major Championship trophy. I’m getting chills just typing about it…
The Opening Stage, with a 16-team Swiss system format, runs from 17 to 20 March, followed by the Elimination Stage with the same format, running from 21 to 24 March. Then, the final eight teams will compete in the Playoffs Stage, which runs over the weekend of 28 to 31 March 2024. All matches in the Playoffs Stage are best-of-three, and it features a single-elimination bracket, leaving no room for error.

The teams are competing for their share of the $1,250,000 prize pool. The winner gets $500,000 and a direct invite to the BLAST Premier World Final taking place in December.
