ESL Pro League Season 22 viewer’s guide
There’s little rest for the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports scene, with tournament after tournament entertaining fans across the globe. This weekend, the ESL Pro League Season 22 kicks off, and with our viewer’s guide, you don’t have to miss a second of the action. Let’s jump in!
EPL Season 22 tournament details
ESL Pro League Season 22 takes place on LAN in Sweden, at the ESL Studio in Stockholm. Squads are competing for a huge $1 million prize pool, divided into Club ($600,000) and Team ($400,000) shares.
The entire event runs from 28 September to 12 October, featuring a Stage 1 (previously called the Play-In Stage) and a Stage 2 (divided into Swiss and Playoffs Stages) portion.
Stage 1 starts on 28 September and will conclude on 2 October 2025. ESL Pro League Season 22 Stage 1 consists of 16 teams competing in a Swiss System format, with the top 8 teams advancing to Stage 2.

The top eight teams will join the eight Direct Invite teams for Stage 2 of the ESL Pro League Season 22, often referred to as the main event. Check out the Direct Invite teams below.

Teams in Stage 2 will first compete in a Swiss Stage (4 to 8 October), where all matches are best-of-three. The top eight teams advance to the Playoffs Stage, which runs from 10 to 12 October 2025. The Playoffs Stage features a single-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three, except for the Grand Final, which is best-of-five.
