ESL Pro League Season 21’s Playoffs Stage matches were a sight to behold for all Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans, boasting fantastic plays as the best teams in the world competed for a huge prize pool. It’s been an incredible ride, and now, a champion has been crowned. Let’s take a look at what happened.
EPL S21 results and highlights
At the start of ESL Pro League Season 21, there were 24 teams competing. This past weekend at the ESL Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, the final eight teams competed in front of a live crowd. To get to the Grand Final, Team Vitality first topped the Group Stage with a flawless 3-0, while MOUZ earned a respectable 3rd place in the Group Stage with a 3-1 score. In the single-elimination Playoffs Stage, Team Vitality got off to a strong start, decimating Team Liquid with a clean 2-0 win, and then eliminated The MongolZ with a 2-1 to make it to the Grand Final.
On the other side of the bracket, it was defending champions MOUZ who pulled off a reverse-sweep against G2 Esports, and then knocked out Team Spirit with a close 2-1.
In the Grand Final of ESP Pro League Season 21, Team Vitality just kicked things into second gear, with Robin “ropz” Kool on top form and legendary AWPer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut rarely missing a shot. Team Vitality won 13-9 on Dust2, a 13-4 on Nuke, and 13-5 on Inferno to close out the best-of-five finale quickly and convincingly, sweeping MOUZ 3-0.
With the win, Team Vitality is close to winning the Intel Grand Slam Season 5. The Chosen One, aka Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, also became the player with the most S-Tier MVP titles, one above s1mple.
Congratulations to the entire Team Vitality for their dominating performance at ESL Pro League Season 21, cementing their status as one of the best squads in the world.
