BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 viewer’s guide

The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 event is a very exciting one for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans. Not only is it the last chance event for teams who want to make it to the BLAST Premier Spring Final, but we will also see the GOAT of CS Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev compete in his first CS2 event on loan with Team Falcons. Here’s what you need to know.

BLAST Premier Spring Showdown details

Unlike the Groups and Final, the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown is an online event played on European servers. 16 teams are competing to qualify for only two spots at the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, so there’s a lot on the line for the teams who didn’t make it through during the Groups event.

The tournament runs from 6 to 10 March 2024, and there’s also a prize pool of $135,000 to fight for. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R2.6 million!

The tournament format is super simple. It’s just a single-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three. This leaves no room for error as the 16 teams compete for a top-two placement. The teams competing include some big names, from Heroic to Ninjas in Pyjamas, Complexity with a South African player and coach, and Team Falcons featuring s1mple. Check out a full list of teams below.
